Salem Convention Center Welcomes New Lodging Option

The Holman Riverfront Park Hotel, the newest downtown lodging option in Salem, is an appealing addition for all travelers. The recently-built hotel, located at 195 Commercial St. S.E., will offer guests easy access to the Salem Convention Center and other downtown attractions.

Since Salem Convention Center opened in 2005, out-of-town guests who wanted to walk to and from events at Salem Convention Center could choose from the 193 rooms and suites at the adjoining Grand Hotel. Salem Convention Center General Manager, Chrissie Bertsch, says adding the new 127-room hotel property just a block away will attract larger groups and conventions to the 30,000 square foot facility.

“One of the biggest challenges for out-of-town guests attending large functions in our venue is finding lodging options within walking distance,” says Bertsch. “With the Holman directly across the street, more attendees will travel to Salem Convention Center conferences and experience our signature ‘all-under-one-roof’ service and convenience.”  

While some may expect competition among the properties, the Grand Hotel in Salem welcomes the change, as most other local hotels are concentrated along the Interstate 5 corridor. “This addition to downtown Salem is a game changer,” says Kristi Reed, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Grand Hotel. “Rather than competing, we are looking forward to working with the Holman Riverfront Park Hotel. Adding more centrally-located rooms to the downtown area will attract larger events and conventions - so it’s a win for all.”
