A professional CPA, Anderson got his start in the industry and with Geffen Mesher in 1981. He became a shareholder in 1994, and was instrumental in the firm’s continued growth and expansion through the 90s to the present. His focus and specialty areas included construction, real estate, manufacturing, distribution, technology, and tax planning for closely held businesses and professionals.

“Tom will be remembered as an excellent CPA and a trusted business advisor,” says Michael Rompa, Managing Shareholder at Geffen Mesher. “He was also an extremely caring and giving individual who gladly dedicated his time to others.”

Beyond his work with Geffen Mesher, Anderson was heavily involved in a number of civic and non-profit related activities. He served as a Trustee for the Grace and Glory Community Church of Vancouver, and as Board President for the Humane Society of Southwest Washington. He was also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Construction Financial Management Association, Portland Chapter.

“Whatever Tom was doing, he was completely dedicated,” says Douglas Lovett, a fellow Shareholder at Geffen Mesher, and a close associate of Anderson’s. “He oversaw hundreds of clients, and he made every one of them feel like they were his only one.”

Originally from Longview, WA, Anderson was a member of the 1977 graduating class from Mark Morris High School. In 1981 he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting, and a Minor in Economics, from Portland State University. He became a Certified Public Accountant in Washington and Oregon in 1981 and 1984, respectively, and most recently resided in Ridgefield, WA. Anderson’s survivors include his wife Krista, son Jordan, and daughter Kailey Tillman.
