Gov. John Kitzhaber plans his second trade mission to China and Japan in as many years, scheduled for October.
Gov. John Kitzhaber plans his second trade mission to China and Japan in as many years, scheduled for October.
The purpose of the 10-day mission, according to a news release announcing it, is to promote Oregon products at a time when the state's economy has become increasingly dependent on global sales.
"Selling Oregon's high quality products in international markets is critical to creating good paying jobs in Oregon," Kitzhaber said in the release. Global exporting is fiercely competitive, he said, and "Oregon needs to continue to make its presence known and work to improve its business relationships in every corner of the world."
