Nevada-based Ironside Mining aims to reprocess gold tailings from a decades-old mine.

“It would be very good for the county,” said Baker County Commissioner Carl Stiff, who foresees an influx of badly needed jobs to reprocess and reclaim the rock and gravel piles.

The county probably also stands to receive royalties of 4 percent or more from the processed gold, said Fred Warner, Baker County commission chairman.
