Apple’s share of tablet market drops to 57 percent, while Amazon’s jumps to 14 percent.

Apple is still well ahead of the pack, having sold more than 15.4 million iPads in the holiday period, where as second-place Amazon sold 3.9 million.  But that was still enough to leapfrog Apple’s other competition, companies like Samsung Electronics, which sold 2.1 million of its Android tablets, and Barnes and Noble Inc., which sold 1.9 million Nook tablets.
