Brammo Inc. landed a deal with the government of Hong Kong to use the company’s electric motorcycles in its fleet.

The electric bikes will replace gas-powered motorcycles used by the Hong Kong Police Force and other departments.

Ashland-based Brammo is touting the announcement as a milestone in the adoption of electric vehicles by governments.

“We were confident that we would lead this change and we are delighted that we have started here in Hong Kong with some of the most EV-engaged leaders in the world,” said Craig Bramscher, CEO and founder of Brammo, in a press release.
