TriQuint Semiconductor Corp. stocks soared after gadget experts tore open the new iPhone 4S and found a pair of the company’s chips inside.

TriQuint has been a supplier in several generations of the iPhone, and its business with Apple has helped bring it close to $1 billion in annual sales. But TriQuint hasn’t been able to keep up with demand for its wireless hardware and has had to turn some promising business down. 

TriQuint’s outlook brightened considerably Thursday, though, when the electronics repair specialists at iFixit got their hands on an iPhone 4S a day ahead of its formal release. (Some customers who ordered their iPhones online have reported early delivery.)
