Over 22,000 high school students applied to the University of Oregon this Spring, a 22% increase over last year.

Over 22,000 high school students applied to the University of Oregon this Spring, a 22% increase over last year.

Despite the flood of applications, however, the university has little room to increase the size of its 2011 freshman class.

The incoming class is expected to be about 4,000 students, about the same as in recent years. But the percentage of students being admitted is dropping.
