Wheego Electric Cars granted dealership rights to the O’Brien Auto Group to sell the Wheego LiFe, a two-seater electric car.

The first Wheego LiFe recently arrived at the O’Brien dealership in Salem.

“Oregon has always been a pioneer when it comes to environmental consciousness and this continues with their partnership in the West Coast Green Highway Initiative,” said Wheego CEO Mike McQuary in a statement. “We think that Oregon might lead all states in electric vehicle adoption, and we’re happy to team up with an organization that is a clear leader for sales and service in the state.”

The Wheego LiFe resembles the Smart For-Two and boasts a 100-mile range per charge. List price is $32,995 before incentives. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that Wheego, led by McQuary, who co-founded early Internet firm Mindspring, plans to build 100 cars this year. The cars are assembled in Ontario, Calif.
