The financial struggles that forced Harry & David to layoff nearly 100 employees will also impact the businesses that supply the gift company.

The company’s financial woes could affect key suppliers such as Rogue Dairy and Umpqua Creamery, as well as Commercial and Digital Services Publications, a local printing company whose corporate office is across the street from Harry and David’s.

Cross Creek Trucking has delivered Harry and David products across the country, for the last 30 years. Their business accounts for almost 20 percent of the trucking companies billings.

“It would be devastating to our local economy” said Scott Fowler, manager at Cross Creek. “We’ve been working with them for 25 years, and we hope to continue to work another 25 more.”
