Intel hopes to have an official ground breaking on their new Hillsboro research fabrication facility in February, according to company spokesman Bill MacKenzie.
Intel is still providing the city with some documentation, including information on habitat protection, construction and traffic impacts, he said.
“At this point we’re in a paperwork-and-process phase,” MacKenzie said.
Experts have estimated that the project will create 6,000 to 8,000 construction jobs.
