The craft brewing scene in Oregon expanded in 2010, with over a dozen new pubs and breweries opening in the Portland area alone.

The industry is expected to grow even more in 2011.

“I think Oregon craft beer is really well situated as the rest of the country starts to catch on,” [Deschutes president Gary] Fish said, “and I see breweries such as Ninkasi (whose production grew 50 percent in 2010) continuing to grow as they reach more markets.”

Ben Love of Hopworks Urban Brewery is the new president of the Oregon Brewers Guild and he sees a solid 2011 for Oregon brewers. “I think we’re going to see continued growth in sales, not just locally but around the region.”
