Oregon cracks down on illegal marijuana. As U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions pushes for federal enforcement against marijuana, states that have legalized pot are trying to restrict illegal sales that put the multibillion-dollar industry at risk. OPB has the story.

Insurance market is stabilizing. The President predicted the market would implode, but insurance carriers in Oregon are recovering financially. Five of the largest insurers turned a profit in the first half of the year. Insurance Commissioner Laura Cali Robison says the profits are encouraging, and proves the market just needed a few years to adjust. Read more from the Portland Business Journal.

Intel plans to recycle 1 billion gallons of water. The chip maker is building a water recycling facility at its new D1X Hillsboro factory. Intel currently uses more than 2 billion gallons of water annually. The plant could save up to 1 billion gallons each year. The Oregonian has more.

Across the river, Vancouver oil terminal gets yet another extension. The Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council pushed off a decision on the terminal’s application for the seventh time. The new decision deadline is Nov. 30. Just after the decision to extend the vote, the Council chair stepped down. OPB has the story.
