Gov. Kate Brown signs all legislation, again


The governor didn’t veto a single bill — for the second session in a row.

One of Brown’s spokesmen confirmed Monday the governor this month approved each of the 124 bills lawmakers in the Democratic-controlled House and Senate sent her way. Brown for months avoided saying whether she planned to reject any of the bills.

Her approval of the Legislature’s work means Brown has signed all 970 of the proposed laws that have reached her desk since she took office in February 2015, according to the nonpartisan Legislative Counsel.

However, last week, Gov. Brown did oppose a proposal from the Coquille tribe to open a casino in Medford.
