SeaPort Airlines seems to be flying high above the recession: The Portland-based airline is planning to add more flights to special events, starting with next weekend’s Yakima beer festival.

“If that trip works out, we could offer flights to the Ashland Shakespearean Festival or the Sagebrush Classic (golf tournament) in Bend,” says co-founder Kent Craford.

SeaPort Airlines is a small commuter service that was launched on June 30. It began by offering flights from a hangar near the Portland International Airport to Boeing Field just outside of Seattle. Since then the company has begun offering flights to Pendleton, Astoria and Newport. It will soon be providing service Arkansas and Tennessee, according to Craford.
