Gold Beach hopes to boost tourism by offering a sweepstakes to win American Eagle coins.
Instead of pulling back on marketing spending, Gold Beach is launching a $20,000 sweepstakes campaign to attract tourism to local hotels and resorts. The prize: authentic American Eagle coins.
While summer is winding down, the promoters will hype the sweepstakes throughout the year, which they hope will give the town momentum into the next tourism season.
Vacationers who obtain a sweepstakes entry by staying at one of Gold Beach’s hotels or vacation homes are eligible for the winnings. The sweepstakes officially kicks off Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Brew and Art Fest. It ends Sept. 1, 2010.
