Oregon Business wins awards

0710_ATS07Oregon Business has been awarded four first-place awards for excellence in business reporting and design by the Oregon chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. The awards were made in the nondaily category for work done in 2009.

Oregon Business managing editor Ben Jacklet received a first place for his story on the $18 billion underground economy in the April issue. Contributor Lucy Burningham received a first place for her story on the growing coffee importing industry in the August issue. The magazine also won two first-place awards for cover design and inside feature design for a variety of issues throughout the year.

The magazine received two second-place awards for a story on phone app developers and a feature on the independent music industry.
