It’s been a long wait for downtown construction to end, and it’s going to be a little while longer.

Although the new MAX light-rail line through Portland opens next month, transit-related downtown construction continues into October.

The new line will run north and south along Fifth and Sixth avenues from Portland State University to Union Station.

But starting on Monday, Aug. 17, TriMet and the city of Portland will repair bricks along the original east and west light-rail line.

The work takes place in 20 intersection on Southwest Morrision and Yamhill streets, which have not had major repairs since light-rail tracks were first installed there 25 years ago.
