Eighteen tourism-related projects divvied up $100,000 in grants from Travel Oregon, the new brand name for the Oregon Tourism Department. The program of matching grants is designed to help local economies improve by attracting visitors. Some of the projects include money for magazine advertising by the Eastern Oregon Visitors Association, tourism promotion for the Oakridge/Westfir Chamber of Commerce, a coast arts guide by the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts and a visitor center by the Illinois Valley Community Development Association.
