Ever wonder why Harry hates coworker Sally? A recent survey of 2,318 employees conducted by Randstad USA gives us a few clues as to what really bugs us a work.
A condescending tone was the biggest pet peeve, according to 44% of those surveyed. Who can blame them? What’s more hurtful than dealing with a snotty remark? Well, getting a public reprimand is right up there, too, according to 37% of the respondents. (Hello? What management school are bosses attending these days?)
And close behind are the loud talkers and ringing cell phones in the office, which a third of the respondents said drove them nuts. We know you like death metal music, but in the interest of office harmony, does it really have to be your ring tone? And maybe you could chew out your client where we can’t hear you? Let’s give peace a chance.
