Temperatures are soaring over 100 degrees in the Willamette Valley, and heat refugees are bringing a much-needed boost to coastal communities that rely on tourism.

With temperatures topping out in the low 70s — more than 30 degrees below Wednesday’s high temperature of 105 in Eugene — coastal hotels, motels and campgrounds were enjoying a spike in business.
