In case you needed another sign that Central Oregon is booming: Just over 215,000 passengers passed through the Redmond Airport in 2006, setting a new record. Officials cite a weekend express to Denver on United Airlines, which ended in October, as a route that helped increase passenger totals. To keep up with ever-swelling demand, workers will begin construction on a $35 million terminal expansion this spring with a completion date expected late in 2008. Redmond’s 22 daily departures include destinations such as San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles and Seattle.
