ENTERPRISE — Vintage might be OK for fashion but when it comes to hospitals, the Wallowa County Health Care District would rather have something a bit more modern. Larry Davy, CEO of the new Wallowa Memorial Hospital, explains that the previous facility, built in the 1950s, was outdated; everything from the medical equipment to the plumbing needed replacing. “We needed to make a jump on efficiencies and technology,” he says. The new $23 million, 52,000-square-foot hospital has equipment such as a new CAT scan machine and a larger emergency center. Davy says a larger surgery department will make room for more orthopedic options and may even accommodate plastic surgery.
