Bend has sharpest house price drop in the nation

Bend had the highest level of housing depreciation of any city in the U.S. in 2009, according to a new national report.

A report released by the Federal Housing Finance Agency yesterday shows that housing prices fell 23 percent in Bend from the first quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2010.

The report ranked 301 metropolitan areas in the U.S., and showed a 8.6 percent decrease in house prices nationwide.
