Ferrotec, a Japanese solar-manufacturing company, announced plans to open a new factory in Fairview in a few months.

Ferrotec joins German manufacturer Centrosolar and Chinese manufacturer Oregon Crystal Technologies as the latest to join Oregon’s solar scene.

With more than 425 megawatts of solar manufacturing capacity now, state officials hope Ferrotec will be among a growing numbers of suppliers following large solar manufacturers.
