Campaigns for and against Measures 66 and 67 are going full speed on the last day of voting.
Today is the last day of voting for the highly divisive Measures 66 and 67, and campaigns are still going full force to garner support.
Early polling showed a lead for supporters of the tax measures, but opposition has been growing, making the race too close to predict.
Political consultant Bob Avery, who is overseeing the opposition effort in Lane County, said small-business owners were staffing the Eugene phone bank, and that others planned to continue holding up banners along the Ferry Street Bridge, urging passers-by to vote “no.”
Joy Marshall of Lane County’s Stand For Children, which is for the measures, said the campaign to pass the tax increases is working phone banks and sending volunteers out on door-to-door canvassing to remind likely “yes” voters to return their ballots.
