More than 1 out of 17 workers in Oregon holds multiple jobs, according to findings by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

25 states experienced an increase in multiple job holding rates from 2007 to 2008. Oregon ranks No. 21, with 5.9% of workers juggling more than one job.

Between 2007 and 2008, Oregon’s multiple job sector grew just two-tenths of a percent. However, it moved up two spots nationally.

David Kong, a statistician with the Bureau of Labor Statistics said twice as many of the multiple job-holders have a full-time and part-time job as two part-time jobs. Nationally, 4.2 million people had full-time and part-time jobs as opposed to 1.8 million with two part-time jobs.
