A Bend motorcycle shop is enjoying its best business yet while leaving others in the dust.
While sales for on-highway motorcycles have hit speed bumps nationally since 2007, Motorcycles of Bend is enjoying its strongest business since opening in 2006.
The custom-bike shop builds and services motorcycles in addition to being a dealer for BMC Choppers.
“2009 was our best year since we opened the doors,” [owner Tony Johns] said. “We’re making a profit, and we’re staying busy.”
It’s the mixture of services offered that has kept the small shop healthy, he said.
