Poached’s site is designed to make rapid connections between restaurants and those looking for work. Founded in 2012, the company says it operates in 12 cities and has more than 10,000 restaurant clients – among them many Panera Bread, Peet’s Coffee and Landry’s, which owns McCormick & Schmick’s, Morton’s and many other well-known brands.

Poached has 13 employees and says it has raised $2.25 million altogether from backers including the Bend Venture Conference, Cascade Angels, the Portland Seed Fund and TiE Angels. Chief executive Kirk Thornby said Poached is continuing to fill out its current investment round; a regulatory filing Monday indicates the company hopes to raise $3.3 million altogether.

Thornby said most of the money will go to marketing to fund its national rollout and improve market penetration in places it already operates.
